A New Way to Work

A New Way to Work

Floor plan of a house

Call it optimism, call it growth mindset. Here’s what I’m thinking as we hunker down to limit the spread of COVID-19. My wife and business partner is a problem solver and I’m a solution seeker. We’ve got this. The last few days have certainly been different. Instead of meetings, presentations, and trainings, we have had to adjust, and our new workday looks something like this: 1. Take care of ourselves and our family 2. Take care of our clients’ needs 3. Get creative about the future of our business. So, what has that looked like? We have spent more time outside doing yard work, created better workspaces within the house, hosted Zoom meetings, slept in a little later, had dinner round the table, and dedicated hours planning for a different way of working in the future. I won’t lie. We have had our moments of panic – usually after taking a break and reading the news. But then we take a few deep breaths and reset. It’s back to the basics right now, just breathe.
