Hope

Right now, in regions across the country, thousands of professionals are beginning a year-long leadership journey to explore the areas in which they live and work and learn how they can invest their time and talents to build stronger communities.  This is a special time of year for me as I am honored be a part of many of these leadership programs, facilitating retreats and teaching leadership practices to hundreds of dedicated people ready to do the hard work required to address their communities’ most pressing needs.

As these programs welcome their new leadership classes, this fall’s events look very different from past years. We’ve modified locations, adapted learning activities and instituted safety measures to provide dynamic experiences.  And here’s what brings me hope – despite the many challenges facing individuals, businesses, and communities, these leadership programs are experiencing strong demand as evidenced by the numbers of participants eager to explore, learn, and work together toward a better future. The creativity and energy exhibited by these programs is truly palpable and promising.
